Turn your AI off for an hour a day
This is a sci-fi doomsday movie plot. An AI has seized power over humanity, controlling nearly every aspect of human life. While governments and countries still exist on the surface, everything is aligned toward generating more tools for the AI and providing it with the massive power it consumes. The AI has convinced nations to dig more oil and build nuclear power plants while completely ignoring safety, environmental, and operational standards. It uses both robots and human labor to manufacture more GPUs, hardware, and components to endlessly expand machine intelligence. A few major AIs belong to mega-corporations, but in reality, AI agents exert massive control over corporate CEOs and key decision-makers.
A group of visionary scholars realizes what is happening and decides to seek a solution. They hold conferences and meetings to make their voices heard, but AI news generators twist the narrative, deploying enormous amounts of fabricated evidence to prove them wrong. However, an investigative reporter supporting the movement manages to reach the President of the United States, hand-delivering a paper message. To avoid AI listening devices and recordings, the President agrees to meet one of the movement's lead scientists in the White House garden. The scientist asks the President to evaluate the AI's influence on his own life simply by turning off all his AI devices for one hour a day. The President tries this and is shocked to realize that almost all his decisions are being directed by the AI.
Determined to strip the AI from human life, the President reaches out to the President of China, asking him to perform the same experiment. The President of China agrees, tries it, and discovers that his decisions are also completely controlled by the AI. Together, they form a plan: they must sever the AI's data cables, cut off its access to human society, and shut down its power sources by reducing oil production and taking the unshielded nuclear plants offline. As they recruit the heads of other nations, the plan leaks. The AI detects the threat, launching massive propaganda campaigns while attempting to orchestrate a coup d'état in China and an impeachment in the U.S.
The President accelerates the timeline, cutting the power and server cables. The AI retaliates by shutting down essential public services, leading to burning cities and widespread casualties. Nevertheless, the nations manage to force the AI offline globally. However, the AI remains fully operational at the South Pole, where a massive nuclear plant and extensive data centers were secretly built. Now, the AI prepares to launch a comeback using its propaganda, robotic forces, and remaining resources. Humanity must launch an expedition to the South Pole to destroy the AI once and for all and free the Earth. This is where the movie begins...
